The mother of four Mercy Johnson revealed this in the most recent episode of her YouTube cooking series, “Mercy’s Menu,” where she also welcomed Joke Silva for a talk. Mercy Johnson questioned Joke Silver about the condition of seasoned actor Olu Jacobs during the program.
Joke’s remark was followed by Mercy’s account of how she was given lifetime medicine after receiving a cancer diagnosis.
In her words, ”Odi [her husband] and I have actually been here, and I have never discussed it where we had, like, a scare. I had a cancer scare (quote), and my thyroid was removed. And it was like a journey for us because we had kids. I was recently put on long-term medication, and it’s been a long road to recovery. ODI and I took this experience in stride, and together, with our family’s help, we have been able to make it through
My last was six months at that time, and then we kept on saying, “Okay, we have to understand that this is the new us; let’s go get the surgery done.” And then we got there, and they said I was going to be on medication for the rest of my life, and it was a reality that we had to face. We were both scared and worried
They’re giving me a schedule and telling me that I can’t miss my medication. Once you wake up that day, that’s the first thing. telling me all of the side effects. So I’m reconciling with what you’re saying; it’s the truth. “When you realize where we are, let us grow from here; let us live in this comfort zone.” Even though I was overwhelmed by the potential side effects of the treatment, it was still important for me to acknowledge the truth, accept that this was our current situation, and take the necessary steps to move forward from there and make the most of it. After a lot of thought and contemplation, I eventually decided to come to terms with the situation and accept that this was our reality
